The YOPBC Beginners Program is available for children ages 6 and up with no prior music training. No audition required. 

The Music For All Beginners Program

The goal of the Music For All Program is to form a beginners’ orchestra so that, over time, those who reach their musical milestones will have the opportunity to move up to one of  YOPBC’s orchestras.

The YOPBC Music For All beginners program is led by experienced and certified music educators and conductors who strongly believe in the benefits of playing music.

Weekly meetings include group music instruction and rehearsal time. Each child in the program picks an instrument to learn.

Musical instruments children may learn

• Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass

• Brass:  Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba

• Woodwinds: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone

• Percussion: Snare Drum, Mallets, Timpani

Where and when does the program meet?

Location: Don Estridge High Tech School in Boca Raton

School Year Program

Sundays from 1:00-2:15 p.m. during the Palm Beach County School District’s academic year

Summer Program

Monday-Fridays for two weeks during the summer

What if I can’t afford the musical instruments?

Musical instruments might be be available on loan 

What is the cost?

The Beginners Program is offered at only $275 for the whole season.

The 2-year Impact 100 program allowed us to provide free music education to deserving children in 2024 and 2025. It was made possible by a grant we received from Impact 100 of Palm Beach County, a women’s charitable organization funding local nonprofit initiatives. It is comprised of a growing number of women (820 women in 2024) who donate $1,000 annually, pool their funds, and vote to award multiple $100,000 high-impact grants to benefit the residents of southern Palm Beach County.
